A Guide To Kent : The Garden Of England

Kent is a stunning and historic county, which is located in the south east of britain. This wonderful county borders East Sussex, Surrey and London, which makes it one of the Home Counties. often called the garden of england, Kent is well known for it's pretty orchards, oast houses and hop gardens. a handful of of Kent’s massive industries were traditionally agriculture, papermaking, aircraft building and tourism. despite this, business is also really important now,too, which means that Kent is a really popular destination for business visitors.

As we have probably already mentioned, Kent is a truly historic county. its perhaps best known for Canterbury, which was the setting for the canterbury tales & is home to Canterbury Cathedral. in fact, Canterbury got its first archbishop in 597, which was when Pope Gregory I appointed augustine to the job. since then, Canterbury - & its cathedral - have been at the centre of Christianity in england.

Kent is a wonderful location, so there is loads of stuff to do. in fact, the county has some pretty green spaces, astounding museums & gorgeous galleries.

Godinton House & Gardens is an historic estate, which has a medieval hall & plenty more historical rooms. However, it also has pretty gardens, which go on for 12 acres.

One of our favourite art galleries is the leaf gallery in Maidstone, which has some fabulous exhibits.

Kent is a historic county with many market towns, so it offers some great shops. you will find some of the best bits shopping in Canterbury - kent's only city. although it's a historical place with numerous unusual independent stores & , Canterbury boasts a great high-street too. in fact, Canterbury boasts branches of Top Shop, New Look & many more great high-street shops. in addition to these shops, Canterbury also has a department store named Fenwicks. The do some shopping is a great place for picking up some designer clothes.

The nightlife in kent is brilliant, as its got something for everyone to enjoy.

You'll find some wonderful nightclubs & exclusive bars in Canterbury - the only city in kent. however, the city also has some wonderful pubs, which are extremely old & have a wide variety of nice beers.

Canterbury also has some superb restaurants, which serve some extremely delicious food & drink. Some of the best include Zizzi's, Augustines & Marlowes.

If you would like to visit Kent, you'll find a wide variety of accommodation on offer. From relaxing bed & breakfasts & guesthouses, to friendly boutique hotels, there's something for everyone.

One of the finest hotels is the Hilton in Dartford, as well as The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells.
