Kent is situated in the south east of great britain, which makes it one of the home counties. kent is surrounded by East Sussex, Surrey, London and Essex. as well as these, Kent boasts a border with France, which is halfway through the channel tunnel. Maidstone is kent's county town and Canterbury is the the county's only city.

Kent is renowned for its hop gardens & orchards, so its often called england's garden.

Kent was a really important place throughout world war two, as much of the Battle of Britain was fought in the skies of the county. in actual fact, between June 1944 & March 1945, more than 10,000 V1 flying bombs were fired on London from northern france. london & kent were struck by about 2500 of these bombs, which were also known as doodlebugs.

Following the war, Kent's borders changed several times. in actual fact, the London boroughs of bexley & bromley were established in 1965 from 9 towns that were initially in Kent. In 1998, the towns of Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, & Rainham left kent as an adminstrative county & formed the Unitary Authority of Medway.

Kent is a large place, so there is lots of stuff to do. in actual fact, the county boasts some pretty park spaces, marvelous museums and stunning art galleries.

Godinton House and Gardens is an very old estate, which boasts a medieval hall and many other historic rooms. However, it also boasts pretty gardens, which last for twelve acres.

The Dover Museum is also worth visiting, as its home to the dover bronze age boat, which is the word's oldest boat. The nightlife in kent is brilliant, because its got something for everyone to enjoy.

You'll find some fantastic clubs & vip cocktail bars in Canterbury - the only city in kent. however, the city also boasts some fantastic public houses, which are extremely old & gain a wide range of nice ales.

Canterbury also boasts some wonderful restaurants, which serve some extremely tasty food & drink. Some of the finest include Zizzi's, Augustines & Marlowes.

Getting to Kent is easy, particularly if you are travelling via London. It boasts fabulous road connections, in addition to regular train services. kent airport, which is located in Manston, also offers flights to & from Kent.
