Kent is placed in the south east of britain, which makes it one of the home counties. kent is bordered by East Sussex, Surrey, London and Essex. in addition to these, Kent has a border with France, which is inside the channel tunnel. Maidstone is the county town of kent and Canterbury is the the county's only city.

Kent is well known for its hop gardens and orchards, so it is often dubbed the garden of england.

Kent was a very important location throughout world war 2, as most of the Battle of Britain was fought over the county. in fact, between June 1944 and March 1945, more than 10 000 V1 flying bombs were dropped on London from northern france. kent & london were hit by about 2 500 of these bombs, which were also known as doodlebugs.

Following the war, Kent's borders changed a few times. in fact, the London boroughs of bromley and bexley were made in 1965 from nine towns that were formerly in Kent. In 1998, the towns of Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, and Rainham left the administrative county of kent and formed the Unitary Authority of Medway.

Kent is a huge county, which means that it boasts many wonderful museums and art galleries to explore. one of the finest museums in kent is the RNLI Museum in Chatham, which is located in a lovely old building that dates back to 1848. The museum boasts a lifeboat gallery with 17 historic boats and the museum also tells visitors more information about the rnlis great work.

Another wonderful museum is the Canterbury Museum and gallery. This wonderful place is housed in a Victorian building and boasts a snazzy collection of art and other artifacts.

As well as wonderful museums and art galleries, Kent also boasts some sensational greenery. in actual fact, Kent boasts Port Lympne and Howletts, which are animal parks that let you experience sensational countryside, whilst seeing some stunning animals.

Whether you would rather hunt for bargains in a market town or picking up some designer clothes in a quaint shopping mall, Kent boasts things for everyone to enjoy.

Kent boasts bluewater, which is one of the biggest shopping centres in the uk. Bluewater has over 330 shops that vary from designer shops including Armani, to high street retailers love Topshop and Gap.

Kent is a fantastic place to visit for a lively night out. Whether you like visiting relaxing public houses or loud nightclubs, the county really does have something for everyone to enjoy.

The county also has some fantastic live music venues, which include the Tap n Tin in Chatham. The tap and tin attracts touring acts, as well as some local acts, so you will be able to look at the stars of tomorrow in a little venue.

Getting to Kent is simple, particularly if you are travelling via London. It has wonderful road connections, as well as regular train services. kent airport, which is situated in Manston, also gives flights to and from Kent.
