Surrey is a county located in england's south east, which helps make up the Home Counties. Surrey borders Greater London, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire.

Surrey council is located at kingston upon thames, even though the town has belonged to Greater London since 1965. due to the county's closeness to London, Surrey has many commuter towns and villages, which has made it one of the most affluent areas in great britain.

There are plenty of reasons to stop over Surrey, but we've created some of the best and put them into the tourism guide below. Whether you are interested in rambling, bike riding, exploring historical sites or even only shopping, we are certain that you'll find something to interest you.

Surrey is easily reached by road and rail from central london and it's also within simple reach of many other british cities.

Most of Surrey is in the green belt & it's the most wooded county in great britain. There are many commons & access lands, as well as a significant network of foot paths & bridleways, comprising of the North Downs Way - a nice long-distance path. for this reason, Surrey offers some excellent rural leisure activities, comprising of bike riding, walking & horse riding.

Most of the land in the county is flat, even though the highest point in Surrey is Leith Hill, which is near Dorking & stands at an amazing 965 feet above sea-level.

If you're looking for a wonderful family day trip, you could attend one of the open days at Busbridge Lakes for a spectacular picnic. alternatively, you could take in the gorgeous scenery situated around the beautiful Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower or even at Outwood, which is home to the the oldest fully functioning windmill in england. The very adventurous visitor may also consider taking a boat ride along the Wey Navigation or even embarking on a bike ride along the Downs Link Path.

As well as these outdoor pursuits, you will also be pleased to know that the Surrey towns of Leatherhead, Chertsey & Farnham have sometimes wonderful museums, which include the Ash Museum. For art lovers, there is also the Forge & Dragon galleries or the Watts Picture Galleries, both of which display some fine work. alternatively, you could visit the fabulous Hogs Back Brewery at Tongham, which has over 500 different beers for you to try.

If you would like to look in Surrey, you'll find some marvellous market towns that have numerous places for you to grab a bargain. Cranleigh is one of our favourite locations, it is well known as the biggest village in britain & it has a quaint high street to compliment its rustic character. It also has a thriving market every Tuesday and a sizeable supermarket that caters to your every day needs.

Alternatively, you could try Oxted. Oxted is a nice location with a beautiful Tudor style high street that is dotted with a handful of chain shops & more specialist shops.

We've come to the end of our surrey guide, but we hope you've found it informative. If you need any many more intelligence about this gorgeous county, simply contact your localised tourist information office and they'll be happy to help you.
