Surrey is a county found in the south east of england, which helps make up the Home Counties. Surrey frontiers Greater London, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, & Berkshire.

Surrey county council is found at kingston-upon-thames, even though the town has been considered part of Greater London since 1965. due to the county's proximity to London, Surrey has multitude commuter towns and villages, which has made it one of the most affluent areas in the uk.

There are plenty of reasons to stop over Surrey, but we have created some of the best and put them into the tourism guide below. Whether you are interested in walking, cycling, exploring historical sites or even just shopping, we're most likely that you will find something to interest you.

Surrey could be easily reached by road & railway from the middle of london & it is also within simple reach of many other british cities.

Much of Surrey is in the green-belt and it is the most wooded county in great britain. There are many commons and access lands, as well as a sizable network of footpaths and bridleways, including the North Downs Way - a captivating long-distance path. as a result, Surrey offers some marvellous rural leisure activities, including cycling, walking and horse riding.

Much of the county's land is flat, although the highest point in Surrey is Leith Hill, which is close to Dorking and stands at an amazing 294 m above sea level.

If you're looking for a exciting family day out, you could attend an open day at Busbridge Lakes for a impressive picnic. on the other hand, you could take in the gorgeous scenery placed around the striking Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower or even at Outwood, which is home to the the oldest fully functioning windmill in the uk. The highly adventurous visitor might also consider taking a boat trip along the Wey Navigation or even embarking on a cycle ride along the Downs Link Path.

As well as these outdoor pursuits, you'll also be happy to know that the Surrey towns of Leatherhead, Chertsey and Farnham boast sometimes exciting museums, which contain the Ash Museum. For fans of art, there's also the Forge & Dragon galleries or the Watts Picture Galleries, both of which exhibit some fine work. on the other hand, you could visit the wonderful Hogs Back Brewery in Tongham, which has over 500 types of beer for you to sample.

Surrey's plenty towns also create plenty of shopping opportunities to take advantage of. Woking is especially effective for shopping as it has the Peacock Centre, which contains well known brands, which contain Marks & Spencer, Toys R Us & Next. in addition to this, Woking also has Wolsey Place Shopping - another mall with well known brands. there's also a market located in Woking's Peacock Walk, which opens Monday to Saturday.

On the other hand, you will also find Dorking is a excellent location for shopping. It has St Martin's Walk, which is a unique shopping precinct in the middle of town. inspite of the cost, the town centre also remains well known for its plenty antique shops. Dorking also has a thriving market on Fridays in the car park on St Martin's Walk.

In conclusion, we believe that Surrey truly has something for all of us to enjoy. For most information on hotels, attractions and the county's substantial woodland, please get in touch with your regional tourist information centre.
