Surrey is a county placed in england's south east, which helps make up the Home Counties. Surrey surrounds Greater London, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire.

Surrey county council is placed at kingston-upon-thames, although the town has been considered part of Greater London since 1965. because of the county's closeness to London, Surrey has many commuter towns and villages, which has made it one of the most affluent areas in england.

Despite the vast amount of London commuters in Surrey, it's still a excellent location to visit for a short break or holiday. After all, the county has amazing country side, excellent stores, stunning market towns & some fantastic background sites, so it offers something for everyone. in fact, whether you are a walker, a cyclist or even only an eager shopper, we are sure that you will find something to please you in this amazing county.

Surrey can be easily accessed from London by rail or road, which makes it the perfect location to visit for a day out, too.

Much of Surrey is in the green-belt & it is the most wooded county in the uk. There are many commons & access lands, as well as a sizeable network of footpaths & bridleways, comprising of the North Downs Way - a captivating long-distance path. as a result, Surrey offers some fantastic rural leisure activities, comprising of bike riding, walking & horse riding.

Much of the land in the county is flat, although the highest point in Surrey is Leith Hill, which is near Dorking & stands at an impressive 965 feet above sea level.

If you're more interested in exploring ancient areas, museums and galleries, you'll also find that Surrey has many to offer.

If you're planning a day trip for the entire family, visit Chessington World of Adventures or Thorpe Park. These fun theme parks boast some marvellous rides, so you're guaranteed to have a marvellous time there. alternatively, there is the Rural Life Centre in Tilford, which offers a playground and miniature railway for younger children, or even Farnham's bustling Birdworld and Underwater World, which gives you the chance to see some pretty animals.

For something a bit more educational, you'll be pleased to know that Surrey boasts over 40 museums. Some of our favourites are the ash museum, clandon park, royal holloway picture gallery and the guildford museum.

If you're planning to do some shopping in Surrey, you will find that Guildford has everything you need and more. As well as numerous specialist outlets, you will also find well known names such as House of Fraser, Debenhams, Boots, m & s and wh smith here. In addition to this, the town also has a top street market on Fridays and Saturdays.

For a more traditional shopping experience, drop by Farnham. This fabulous town is still truly old-fashioned with some exciting specialist outlets that are situated just beneath Farnham Castle.

In conclusion, we believe that Surrey really has something for all of us to enjoy. For most information on hotels, attractions and the county's historic woodland, please contact your regional tourist information centre.
