Do you have any idea if you are getting what you need even though you hear a lot about vitamins and minerals? For the most part, you probably are. However, there are times when we don't, and this direct us to a very interesting theory. My mother offered me a book she had read a while back, and it claimed that persons who do not get enough vitamins and minerals each day might get sick easier and also might walk around with abnormal cravings.
After I read the book, it made me think about a teacher I had in fifth grade. This guy was your classic teacher, though he was not very animated. Quite often he would eat the chalk he had in the classroom. Though we thought it was funny at the time, I never thought there was a reason why he did it. Could it have something to do with the amount of vitamins and minerals in his diet? I have no idea, but this book was telling me it was. It's an interesting theory. But would it makes us eat chalk if our body craves for vitamins and minerals it is not getting?
So this might explain why you crave certain foods. That's surely not as awful as eat chalk, but this could explain odd cravings, particularly during pregnancy. Expecting women require more vitamins and minerals than anyone else, and they need to be sure they get them. If they are not getting the vitamins and minerals for themselves as well as what they need for their growing baby, does this drive them to ask for Italian dressing and hotdogs in the middle of the night? I am not sure.
honestly don't know if a lack of essential vitamins and minerals might explain cravings, even though the man who wrote the book made some great points. What I do know is that you have to deal with cravings every day when you are on a diet, and maybe making sure your intake of vitamins and minerals is what it should be might just prevent a few of those crazy urges that make you over eat. Even though it's just a theory, perhaps making sure you take a daily vitamin might help you to keep a lid on your cravings just in case it works. If you take up a diet plan that garanties you get the right foods each day, maybe that, along with the vitamins, might give you the head start you necessitate to stay on track. Just don't eat chalk, ok?
